The El Segundo Fire Department has cancelled all Fire Department community outreach events until further notice. The action is taken as a precaution to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The City of El Segundo continues to cooperate with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and the El Segundo Unified School District to respond to the spread of the novel coronavirus in Los Angeles County. State and Federal Laws require release reporting. The El Segundo UPA is responsible for ensuring that persons, facilities, or businesses who are required by law or regulation to report a release in a timely manner. 

Any significant spill, unauthorized release, or other accidental release involving hazardous materials must be reported.

It is the responsibility of the person, facility or business that released or spilled the hazardous material or waste to contact the Environmental Safety Division, and/or California Office of Environmental Services to determine further actions.
