The El Segundo Fire Department has cancelled all Fire Department community outreach events until further notice. The action is taken as a precaution to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The City of El Segundo continues to cooperate with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and the El Segundo Unified School District to respond to the spread of the novel coronavirus in Los Angeles County. The City of El Segundo Fire Department's Fire Prevention Division
The El Segundo Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Division, headed by the Fire Marshal, is responsible for enforcing fire/life safety, and reducing the risk to loss of life and property. Through annual fire inspections of commercial or multi-residential buildings, technical plan review and fire investigations, Fire Prevention is able to address community risk reduction issues and develop appropriate public education programs to the community.
